Mammoth Moments in Miniature provides quick updates on campus happenings. This week's edition includes weekly wildlife sanctuary hikes, the Student Employment Fair, and the premiere of “The Onion” opera.

Wildlife Sanctuary Hikes

Beginning this Thursday, Sept. 11, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., Wes Nugteren, the College’s new Outdoor Educator, will be hosting weekly wellbeing-focused hikes through the campus’s 500-acre wildlife sanctuary.

Student Employment Job Fair

The Student Employment Office will be hosting a campus job fair this Thursday, Sept. 11, in the Science Center from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Bring your resume if you have one, and take advantage of the opportunity to balance your studies and gain professional experience. 

 “The Onion” opera premieres in Amherst

“The Onion,” a new “memory” opera, is set to premiere in Amherst on Thursday, Sept. 11, in Holden Theater at 7:30 p.m. Two additional performances will follow on Sept. 12 and 13 at the same time. Created by composer Eric Sawyer and director Ron Bashford, both of whom are faculty of the college, the performance features five prominent Boston vocalists and explores what happens when family secrets collide with a memory-enhancing AI.
